The Bucket Test

 

The "Bucket Test" will determine if pool water loss is due to evaporation or a leak:

 

Bring pool water to normal level.

Fill the bucket to top with pool water.

Place bucket on first or second step of pool so water level in bucket is same as water level in pool.

After 24 hours, compare the two levels. If pool water goes down more than the water level in the bucket, there's probably a leak.

Repeat the test if it rains before results can be measured.
